DCHA/DRG Political Scientist/Subject Matter Expert (multiple)

The Kaizen Company is responding to the release of a Request for Proposals from USAID to provide the Analytical Services for USAID’s Bureau for Democracy, Conflict and Humanitarian Assistance’s Center of Excellence on Democracy, Human Rights, and Governance (DCHA/DRG). The primary objective of this IDIQ is to provide expertise, assessments, and other analytic capabilities to USAID operating units to develop strategies and programs that will have the greatest impact.

Analytical Services IV will support an array of analytical and technical services including: 

  • DRG assessments, applied political economy analyses, sub-sectoral and technical assessments or analyses;
  • DRG strategy development and support for strategic planning;
  • Program design and results management support;
  • Research, special studies and surveys;
  • Training development and delivery, and professional networking; and 
  • DRG rapid response analytical and technical assistance support for transitional environments. 

Kaizen is seeking multiple Subject Matter Experts with experience in research and analysis, DRG assessments (specifically PEAs and Strategic Assessment Frameworks), and transitional governments, to provide STTA to USAID missions through the release of task orders under this IDIQ.  

The candidates selected will be included on an elite roster of experts. The list of experts proposed is not a guarantee of hire, however those included will be among the first of whom we would reach out to for assignments under this contract.  


  • Bachelor's degree is required. A Master’s degree or higher is preferred.
  • A minimum of 8-12 years of experience working in international development, including 3-5 years of experience as an analyst or researcher conducting political analysis.
  • Experience working with USAID, specifically with DCHA
  • Experience conducting DRG assessments including PEAs and Strategic Assessment Frameworks
  • Experience working or leading teams engaged in special studies related to the DRG sector
